PETALING JAYA: Seventeen Malaysian companies are among the fastest growing businesses in the Asia Pacific region, according to a recent survey.
Extol MSC Bhd, VADs e-Services Sdn Bhd, RedHot Media Sdn Bhd, and Green Packet Bhd are the cream of the local crop; they are in the top 100 of the 2007 Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific list.
Ahmad Mustapha Ghazali, Deloitte Malaysia managing partner, said the Malaysian businesses are holding their own against strong challenges from companies in India and China.
Extol MSC, an IT security firm, is No 53 in the grouping of 500, with a recorded three-year average revenue growth of 823%.
"We hope to continue this success in next year’s ranking,” said Justin Tan, Extol MSC chief executive officer at the awards ceremony in Hong Kong last month.
VADS recorded a growth of 800% and holds the No 54 position; Red Hot Media recorded 483% and is at No 93; while Green Packet hit 447% and occupies the No 99 spot. All three are networking companies.
Pole position on the list is held by China's Trina Solar Ltd, a semiconductor and electronics company, with a recorded growth of 27,542%.
Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, an auditing company, started the survey in 2002 as a move to recognise the efforts and dedication of the 500 fastest-growing technology companies in the Asia Pacific. Companies dealing in all areas of technology are eligible.
