KUALA LUMPUR - The Multimedia Development Corporation (MDC) will be participating in the China International Software and Information Service Fair (CISIS), which will be held from July 28-31 at the Dalian Xinghai Convention & Exhibition Center.MDC's participation in the CISIS has come at a strategic time as it is a good way of creating awareness of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) in Northern China, said the chief executive officer of MDC, Datuk Dr Mohamed Arif Nun, who will be also leading the MDC delegation to the event.He said the trip to China follows a memorandum of understanding (MoU) recently signed between MDC and Dalian Software Park (DLSP), which among other activities will see MDC setting up an office in Dalian.
In a statement here yesterday, Dr Arif said the MoU has created a new wave of interest in trade cooperation between both parties, especially in the Information, Communication and Technology area."The assistance from DLSP definitely enhances the exposure and opportunities available to Malaysian companies that will be attending the fair," he said.Companies that will be participating in the CISIS under the Malaysia Pavilion include AsiaEP Berhad, IFCA MSC Sdn Bhd, iNavigate Sdn Bhd, Infotech Alliance Sdn Bhd, Kedah Wafer Emas Sdn Bhd, Lim Kok Wing, Milinux Networks Sdn Bhd, NSS MSC Sdn Bhd, Nusuara Technologies Sdn Bhd, RK Komputer Sdn Bhd and I-imagination Sdn Bhd.
The CISIS, which is organised by Dalian Municipal People's Government, has the distinct feature of "Promoting Development of the Software Industry and Revitalising Old Industrial Bases" in supporting and carrying out the strategic measures by the government for using IT applications to spur industrialisation and to revitalise old industrial bases in Northern China.The fair is sponsored by Ministry of Information Technology, Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Education of China together with China Council for the promotion of International Trade and Liaoning Provincial People's Government.This fair will see participation from Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, Malaysia, the United States and various European countries.
